Three Coconut Rum Drinks Your Pool Party Guests Will Love

Coconut rum drinks make any pool party more tropical and fun. Therefore, they are the ideal drinks to serve for a tropical themed party. The following drink recipes will enliven your tropical celebration and add just the right vibe for conveying a taste of the tropics.

1. The Coconut Martini

This coconut cocktail is a dessert drink that is always welcome on a warm day. To make this drink, you will need the following ingredients:

1 ounce of coconut rum

1½ ounces of vanilla vodka

½ ounces of cream of coconut

A splash of pineapple juice

Pour the ingredients into a tumbler filled with ice before shaking well. Strain the beverage into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with coconut flakes or a pineapple wedge.

Note: Cream of coconut can be easily found because it is used in making a Pina Colada. Use this ingredient if you want your martini to be creamy. If you want to create a thinner cocktail, use coconut milk instead. It will produce the same delicious taste but will make a martini that is lighter and slightly more refreshing.

2. The Bushwacker

This coconut rum concoction is a frozen drink that uses dark rum, chocolate liqueur, cream of coconut, and coffee liqueur for its ingredients. You may liken this drink to a milkshake, except it contains alcohol. If you prefer to make a lighter drink, substitute the cream of coconut for coconut milk or sweetened condensed milk with ½ teaspoon of coconut extract. Below is the ingredient listing:

1 ounce of dark rum

1 ounce of dark crème de cacao

2 ounces of cream of coconut

1 ounce of Kahlua coffee liqueur

2 ounces of milk

A cup of ice

Blend the above ingredients until they are smooth. Pour the mix into a chilled hurricane glass. This recipe enables you to serve three drinks in 5-ounce glasses. If you have any of the mix left over, simply store it in a sealed container and keep it in a freezer until you are ready for another round. Use the freezer, as well, to store Bushwackers that have been previously prepared. Allow the prepared drinks to warm slightly so they can be easily consumed.

3. The Rock Lobster

This frozen concoction combines fruity flavors with coconut rum and dark rum, which floats on top. The mix of fruits — banana, orange, pineapple, and pomegranate — make this drink a summertime favorite. To make the drink, you will need the following:

1½ ounces of coconut rum

¾ ounces of banana liqueur

½ ounce of grenadine

½ ripe banana – peeled

A dash of orange juice

A dash of pineapple juice

A cup of dark rum to top off the drink

Pour the ingredients, with the exception of the dark rum, into a blender. Blend the ingredients until they are smooth. Pour the liquid into a highball glass that has been chilled. Float the dark rum on top of the drink by gradually pouring it over the back of a bar spoon.
