Summer Cocktail Bucket List
Summer cocktails are a true staple during the wonderful season of summer. From hanging out by the pool to taking an oh-so-needed vacation, nothing stimulates relaxation like a refreshing adult beverage. The recipe possibilities are endless, which gives you plenty of reason to try them all. Here are a few mixtures to try before the summer comes to an end.

There’s nothing more refreshing than a frozen smoothie cocktail. It helps to keep you cool in the hot weather and can make anywhere feel like a beach. With a fruity twist, this is sure to be a summer go-to.
4 cups of cubed watermelon
1 750-ml bottle of Moscato
1 cup of rum
Juice of 4 limes
Zest of 2 limes
1 tbsp of sugar
In a blender, combine watermelon, Moscato, rum, lime juice, lime zest, and sugar. Blend until smooth. Put in refrigerator until chilled. Garnish glasses with lime slices and serve.
Tropical Long Island Iced Tea
Long Island Iced Teas are a cocktail beloved by many. With the simple addition of a colorful orange liqueur, this drink will have you feeling like you’re in paradise.
¾ ounce of rum
¾ ounce of gin
¾ ounce of vodka
¾ ounce of tequila
3 ounces of sweet and sour
¾ ounce of blue curacao
Fill a 12-ounce highball glass with ice to the rim. Add rum, gin, vodka, tequila, and sweet and sour. Top with Sprite and finish with blue curacao. Garnish glass with lemon or orange slice and serve.

For a healthy and delicious summer cocktail, nothing beats a Mojito. This simple twist on the classic drink makes summer feel endless. Packed with health benefits such as boosting immunity, helping alleviate gas and indigestion, getting rid of nausea, naturally increasing energy, and banishing bad breath, it’s a definite must-try.
1.5 ounces of Mount Gay Black Barrel rum
¾ ounce of lime juice
¾ ounce of simple syrup
1 ounce of Ambient pear puree
Fresh mint leaves
Fill highball glass with ice. Lightly press on mint leaves with muddler (back of a spoon works as well). Add ice, rum, lime juice, simple syrup, and Ambient pear puree into shaker and shake well. Strain into highball glass and top with club soda. Finish with mint leaves.

Summer is the season of parties and entertaining. When searching for a unique cocktail, ingredients like strawberries and bourbon are sure to make a unique, yet superb option. This yummy and fresh combination is sure to please your guests.
8 ounces of bourbon
2 cups of strawberries
2 tbsp of sugar
½ cup of fresh lemon juice
12 basil leaves
8 basil sprigs
Place strawberries into blender and add sugar. Add ¼ cup of water and pulse until pureed. In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, add the puree and 1 ¾ cup of water. Heat until mixture begins to boil. Allow to cool and strain through sieve into large pitcher along with the bourbon, 1 cup of water, lemon juice, basil leaves, and a splash of bitters. Stir well and serve in glasses. Garnish each drink with a basil sprig.
