Five Non-Alcoholic Drinks to Include in Your Next Party

Non-Alcoholic Drinks

If you are holding a party for underage guests or simply want to include mocktails among the beverage choices, you cannot go wrong with the following drinks – made to look like alcoholic libations but lacking the alcohol. Below is a list of the favorites.

1. The Margarita Mocktail

This citrusy and delicious drink features all the flavors that make a margarita a one-of-a-kind libation. Add orange, lime, and, of course, a salted rim. Add grapefruit to the drink if you like. The only thing you are leaving out is the tequila. For health-conscious people, mix 1½ ounces of lime juice with 1 ounce freshly squeezed orange juice. Add a teaspoon of agave nectar and a lime wedge for the garnish. Rim the glass with coarsely ground sea salt.

2. A Peach Bellini Mocktail

This non-alcoholic drink can be made quickly and is great to serve at a brunch. To make sure you bring out the flavor, chill the ingredients so they will not be diluted when you add ice. To make the non-alcoholic version, puree lemon juice, peaches, water, and sugar in a blender until the mix is smooth. You will need two medium peaches that have been dice or peeled, ½ cup water, 1 teaspoon lime juice, and just a pinch of sugar. Add the mixture to a champagne flute.

3. Wise Guy

The Wise Guy is a tangy mocktail that is made with verjus, which is unripened grape juice. You will need a tumbler to make this drink and the following ingredients:

4 sage leaves and a sprig for the drink’s garnish

¼ ounce of Jalapeno agave syrup

1½ ounces of pineapple juice

An ounce of verjus

½ ounce of lime juice (freshly squeezed)

Ice cubes and crushed ice

A pinch of Kosher salt

To make the mocktail, lightly muddle the sage leaves and agave syrup before adding the pineapple juice, lime juice, verjus, and salt. Fill the shaker with ice, shaking well. Fine-strain the drink into a julep cup with crushed ice and garnish with a sprig of sage.

4. Cranberry Limeade

When you combine lime juice and cranberry juice, you get a drink that can only be described as thirst-quenching and delicious. Add the ice and you will make any summer party memorable. To make this drink, you will need the following ingredients:

3½ cups of water, divided

3 cups of cranberry juice

1 ¼ cups of sugar

1 ½ cups of lime juice (or about 12 medium limes)

Ice cubes

1 tablespoon of lime zest (grated)

To make the drink, bring the sugar in 1½ cups of water to a boil. Remove the liquid from the heat and stir in the lime zest, juices, and remaining water. Cover the concoction and refrigerate for at least one hour. Serve the drink over ice and include lime slices, if desired.

5. Rosemary Lemonade

No summer party is complete without a non-alcoholic beverage, such as lemonade. In this case, the drink includes a sprig of rosemary. The rosemary freshens the drink and supplies a pretty garnish. To make this summertime favorite, you will need the following:

2 cups of water

½ cup of sugar

½ cup of honey

1 ¼ cup of lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

6 cups of cold water

Ice cubes

Rosemary sprigs and lemon slices

To make the drink, bring two cups of water to a boil and add two fresh rosemary sprigs. Reduce the heat and allow the liquid to simmer, covered for 10 minutes. Remove the saucepan of liquid and dispose of the rosemary. Stir in the honey and sugar until they are dissolved. Transfer the drink to a pitch and refrigerate the liquid for about 15 minutes. Add the lemon juice and stir in the cold water. Serve the summer drink over ice. Add rosemary sprigs and lemon slices for the garnish.

Try some more non-alcoholic drinks including Italian soda and crock pot hot chocolate. Have your favorite tumbler ready for your drink, whether it is Harry Potter or sports themed.
