Bloody Good Halloween Punches

We don’t know when Halloween transformed from a kid’s “holiday” to an adult event, but man, we wouldn’t have it any other way! It’s a day we get to escape. It’s a day we get to be someone else. It’s a day that is socially acceptable to scare the wits out of someone. But best of all, it’s a day to party!

And don’t we deserve at least one day a year like that?

Of course we do. After all, we’re like zombies all year long … punching a clock, doing the same thing day after day after day.  Then, before you it, you know it, Oct. 31, rolls along and we get to let our hair down. Or put it up. Or buy a wig. Or cover it up. Or whatever the heck we want to do with it, because we’re going to a party. A costume party. A Halloween party. Where there’s going to be scary ghosts and boos. And by boos we mean punch. Filled with rum. And vodka. And tequila. And whiskey. And bourbon. You know, adult treats. (Silly person dressed like a rabbit, tricks are for kids.)

If you’re throwing the party, we’ve got some colorful Halloween punches for you. We’ve got red punch recipes. We've got orange punch recipes. We even have a purple punch recipe. Perfect colors to match any Halloween décor. Enjoy. And please, Halloween Punch responsibly.

Pumpkin Orange Fizz
2 cups pineapple juice
1 cup rum
2 bottles (1500 ml) sparkling white wine
½ tsp coconut extract
6 drops red food color
4 drops yellow food color

Combine all ingredients in large punch bowl.
Mix well.
Serve over ice in 12oz tumbler.

(For extra added Halloween flair, buy a brain gelatin mold – yes, they make those – and fill it with tropical punch. Freeze. Then add to middle of punch bowl.)

And in the spirit on Halloween, here’s two more Halloween Punch recipes for you:

Spiked Jolly Rancher Punch
This bright red party punch hides a nice kick behind the flavor of the classic hard candy.

3 cups pineapple punch
64oz cranberry juice
32oz ginger ale
1 bottle sparkling apple cider
750 ml Raspberry flavored vodka

Combine all ingredients in large punch bowl.
Mix well.
Serve over ice in 12oz tumbler.

Purple Knockout Punch
The final of our holiday alcoholic punch recipes is a powerful purple concoction that’s easy to drink but needs to be done so in moderation because it’s our strongest.

32oz pomegranate juice
32oz pineapple juice
16oz coconut rum
16oz vodka

Combine all ingredients in large punch bowl.
Mix well.
Serve over ice in 12 oz tumbler.

No matter which punch you serve, be smart, take their keys and call them an Uber.

Halloween cheers.
